Klezmokum Foundation
& Greene Room
The Klezmokum Foundation was established in 2006 by American jazz pianist Burton Greene.
In the years that followed, many concerts were organized with the support of the Jewish Maror Funds. In June 2021, Burton passed away at the age of 84, and it was his express wish that the foundation continue its musical activities in his spirit. To that end, the foundation’s name and statutes have been amended, and a new location has been rented at:
Elementenstraat 16 in Amsterdam-West, where Burton’s memory can be kept alive through exhibitions, workshops, living room concerts, and guest performances.
Tatatacouf & Keller-Lammen quintet
13 November 2025
For the first time, an evening session with a double concert: at 20:00 the trio Tatatacouf (formerly ImProper) with impressive improvised music, silences, an abundance of sounds, and yes, even storm. Featuring Lida Brouskari on piano, Thomas Jaspers on drums, and Raoul van der Weide on double bass. Their music is inspired by Jazz, Latin, and composed music, curious music for curious ears.
After the break, the Keller-Lammen quintet will come on with surprising jazz in an unusual horn lineup featuring trumpet and trombone (so no sax). With Thomas Lammen on trombone, Ole Keller on trumpet, Thomas Fleischmann on guitar, Aaron van Dongen on bass, and Twan Ransijn on drums.
Batidos + Martin Wirén
30 November 2025
Baztidos, a jazz ensemble of five musicians who create their own interpretation of world music by combining styles from the Balkans, Jamaica, Africa, and South America. They are known for their adventurous and culturally diverse sounds, emphasizing a surprising musical landscape in which different cultures come together. With Sam Ritchie on trumpet, Tim Kerssies on accordion, Harold Berghuis on guitar, Jasper de Beer on bass, and Roberto Haliffi on drums and percussion; they perform regularly at jazz café Alto.
The Swedish saxophonist Martin Wirén will give a solo performance. His new recordings have a fluent feeling and expressive harmonic structure, creating a wave of colorful sounds that takes the listener on an emotional journey. Ranging the saxophone from a low register to a high whistling sound in the upper register creates a combination and feeling of mountains swell as the deep sea.
Doors open 14:00 - Vinyl’s by Rocky Marsiano (Dox records)
